What Are Words Worth

Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder and to harm.

The power of words comes into play during the times we define our reality. The words we use in our minds repeatedly to describe ourselves and our identity are some of the most powerful forces in our lives. If we constantly utter self-depreciating language in our internal dialogue, we are allowing the power of words to work against us

Same goes for phrases like: "I don't know if I can", or "I will try". Think and feel how different from the only three words of Obama's campaign: "Yes, we can!" Short, sweet and simple.... and powerful.

When we speak, write, think, or otherwise use words we are engaging in something we always should be mindful of.

We attach meaning to words based upon our own experiences and awareness. So some words can't be defined by others, only by ourselves. Success and happiness are two such words. My definition of those words will be completely different from yours.

Have you checked your vocabulary lately? Which words are you using in your internal dialogue and when communicating with others?
